Question of the Day Plus a Giveaway!

I'm doing a little research this morning on audio books. I figure the best way to answer the questions I have is to go directly to the people.

  1. Do you listen to audio books? (If yes, why and if no, why not?)
  2. How many audio books do you listen to in a month?
  3. Do you listen to the sample of an audio book before purchasing?
  4. Where do you listen to audio books? (i.e. in the car, while cleaning, when walking.)
  5. What is your favorite genre to listen to?
  6. Where do you get your audio books from? (i.e. Audible, iTunes, Amazon, library.)
  7. Do you have a favorite narrator?

As my way of saying thank you for participating, I'm going to give away a free audio version of my book McKenna's Honor. ;o) I'll choose a random winner from those who leave a comment. I'll announce the winner on Thursday morning. Thank you so much for participating!

Hugs,
Suzan

  7. I've not bought one in years. Last one I bought was Anne of Green Gables so the whole family could listen to it while riding in the car. It was ordered online. However I plan to order a newer book to give it a whirl

  8. Yes, I love audio books, but it depends who the narrator is, I do tend to have my two favorites ones Brad Wills and Anthony Ferguson. This all new for me, because I used to listen to them as audiobooks with CDs. I don't buy them, because they are a bit expensive and I rather buy the hard copy first. I have two sent as gifts. I listen to audiobooks while doing my jewelry or just have a relaxing moment.

  11. 1. Do you listen to audio books? (If yes, why and if no, why not?) YES. I never considered audio books. I assumed that they would be boring. A friend mentioned that she'd tried the free trial on audible so I did too. I listened to Gone With the Wind and fell in love. I've only listened to only audiobooks for the past 9 months. It's hard for me to read now because I enjoy listening. I've also tried genres that I wouldn't have considered before.
    2. How many audio books do you listen to in a month? 5 - 10
    3. Do you listen to the sample of an audio book before purchasing? Sometimes.
    4. Where do you listen to audio books? (i.e. in the car, while cleaning, when walking.) Everywhere
    5. What is your favorite genre to listen to? Medieval Romance
    6. Where do you get your audio books from? (i.e. Audible, iTunes, Amazon, library.) Audible mostly.
    7. Do you have a favorite narrator? Rosalyn Landor, Jill Tanner.

    1. Isn't it funny how one little thing can change our lives? :D I have friends who are same way: they rarely 'read' anymore but listen to audio books every day. Thanks for stopping by Kiesha!

    2. Yes ma'am it is :) I really do enjoy them. However, I do want to get back into reading. I'm missing a lot of good reads. I've got to find a healthy balance :)

  13. Hiya :-)

    1. Do you listen to audio books? (If yes, why and if no, why not?)
Yes I listen to audiobooks & they are my main format for 'reading'! I love audiobooks for themselves (they make the whole book experience so fun!) but started mainly because health issues have made it challenging for many years for me to physically hold up or read a book. Audiobooks have enabled me to continue my love of stories & being transported to other places & times. A good, well performed audiobook is a very satisfying experience & can help bring a book more to life! I'm now able to manage a little 'print book' reading in again after many years which is just wonderful (& how I was able to enjoy your book 'Laiden's Daughter') but audiobooks are still my main - & easiest - way of enjoying the variety of stories out there!

    2. How many audio books do you listen to in a month? Approximately 2

    3. Do you listen to the sample of an audio book before purchasing? Not really.

    4. Where do you listen to audio books? (i.e. in the car, while cleaning, when walking.)
In the house. In bed. Snuggled down in the day for some good book time. Before sleep.

    5. What is your favorite genre to listen to?
My favourite genres are Historical fiction, Historical Fantasy, Fantasy & Paranormal Romance!

    6. Where do you get your audio books from? (i.e. Audible, iTunes, Amazon, library.)
I get my audiobooks from Amazon, Audible & my local library.

    7. Do you have a favorite narrator?
Oooh there are so many! But I do love Anna Bentinck, Davina Porter, Corneilius Garrett, Stephen Fry, Euan Morton, Jenna Lamia, Jennifer Ehle & Ilyana Kadushin.

    1. I'm glad you stopped by Natty, and very glad you were able to continue 'reading' even if you couldn't 'hold' the book. :D
