I'm In USA Today!

What an exciting day today! My upcoming release, McKenna's Honor, was mentioned in the Happily Ever After Blog in USA Today newspaper!

I've been shaking my head about this all day. I think back to December 2011 and what my goal was then. It was so simple. Just publish the book for my mom. I thought it would be amazing if someone bought a copy. My goal at that time was to sell ten books. Not in a day, or a week, or even a month. Just ten books total over time.

What a difference 19 months makes!

McKenna's Honor will be released on Friday, July 26th. You can pre-order your copy for either your Kindle or Paperback at Amazon.

I never thought that I would be where I am today. I know that I owe all of this success to you, my lovely and beautiful readers. Without you, none of this would be happening. Thank you all, so very much!

Hugs,
Suzan

Let the Countdown Begin!

11 Days until McKenna's Honor is released! Things are getting pretty busy and exciting around here. You can almost feel it in the air.

In case you missed it, McKenna's Honor is available for pre-order in both ebook and paperback formats at Amazon.  How cool is that? (Trust me. Those pre-order links are coveted by us indie authors!)

McKenna's Honor is a novella, approximately 130 pages (yes, I'm still editing!). It is not a typical romance but it does have romantic elements. McKenna's Honor is more a bridge that helps to launch my new series, Clan Graham. Don't panic! We'll still see some of our favorite MacDougall men and women in future books.

In honor of releasing my fourth book I'm going to be doing some fun give aways. I'll post the rules tomorrow (July 16, 2013).

I want to thank each and every one of you for your continued support, kind words, and encouragement. I truly believe that I have the best readers in the universe. :o)

Hugs,
Suzan

Our Newest American Citizen

Yesterday I was able to experience something that was awe inspiring and beautiful. My good friend and fellow author, Cecilia Weer became a US Citizen! I was able to attend her 'swearing in/oath' ceremony at the Federal Courthouse. There were over 40 people taking the oath, even an entire family! They were from 22 different countries. It was a very large courtroom and there was not an empty seat to be found. It was standing room only.

I stood with dozens of complete strangers and said the pledge of allegiance. They said it with pride, loudly, heartily. It was the first time I ever cried while saying that pledge. I shed many tears, all of them joyful.

I was moved by the judge. "Some of you came here fleeing political or religious persecution, hunger and oppression. Some of you came because you were seeking something moving toward something. You are now a part of that American dream that has brought countless people to our shores."

Afterward, in the hallway outside the courtroom, these new citizens were SMILING, ear to ear, grinning, laughing, and clinging to their citizenship documents. I took pictures for complete strangers who, while their English was not perfect, they were using it as best they could. The sense of pride, excitement, happiness was palpable. You could FEEL it in the air.

Congratulations to all those individuals who took their oath yesterday. I am proud to be an American. I am very proud to welcome you to this great and wonderful country.

It has been such an exciting week and gee whiz, it is only Wednesday! :D

McKenna's Honor, in Paperback...special announcement!

I am very tickled to tell you, my lovely readers, that you can now pre-order a paperback copy of McKenna's Honor!

McKenna's Honor is a novella, approximately 125 to 130 pages long (we're still in editing stages!) and about 24 chapters long. :D

Amazon contacted me a few days ago, to get permission to have their Create Space team contact me. Create Space is owned by Amazon and it is the company I use to print my paperbacks. This is a big deal because this isn't something that indie authors typically get.

So you can pre-order the ebook or the paperback! Yes, I did a happy dance of joy!

Love you all! Thank you so much for helping make my dreams come true. It is because of your continued support that I am able to live this life. Each of you is a blessing and I thank God for you every day! :D

Hugs,
Suzan

Sizzling Summer Blog Hop!

Good morning lovely readers! I know that I have been MIA for a couple of weeks but there are good reasons for that.  I’ve been working on McKenna’s Honor and a home renovation project that mother nature seems determined to keep from happening.

Anyway…today I’m joined by some really awesome women for a sizzling summer blog hop! I love these women...they're terrific authors, but more importantly, I consider them dear friends who oftentimes keep me from losing my mind! Pop on over to the Romance Troupe site...we're giving away some cool prizes! :D One of them is an iPad mini! How awesome is that?

We’re all posting snippets of our books or, more specifically, a favorite kissing scene! Today, I’m posting one of my favorites. This is from Wee William’s Woman….This is one of my favorite scenes in the book. This little snippet happens after Wee William tells Nora how he feels about her and then tries to leave without kissing her. :D Enjoy!

Aishlinn was right. Men were stupid beasts. Aye, they were wonderful, kind, sweet, funny, but stupid nonetheless. They could come up with the most amazing plans for buildings, weapons, battle, and inventions. But when it came to the ways of the heart and women? They were as intelligent as a battering ram and just as graceful.

For the first time in her life, Nora growled. It started deep in her belly, bubbled up and escaped her lips and she made no attempt to stop it. She would have to take the lead at this moment, or he’d walk out that door and she’d never see him again. She took a small step away from the door, letting go of the handle. She straightened her shoulders and looked him in the eye. Of course, she had to lean her head back a ways to do so and could only hope the effect was the same.

“William, if you do not kiss me this very instant, I will go back out into that gathering room and ask Rowan Graham for his hand in marriage!” Of course she didn’t think she actually had the courage to do such a thing, but Wee William did not need to have that bit of information at the moment.

His eyes widened and he scowled down at her. “Ye would no’ dare!”

“I do not make idle threats, sir!” She made idle threats with her brother and sister all the time. Such as when she threatened to rip their legs off and beat them about the head when they misbehaved. That was another piece of information William did not need to be privy to at the moment. As angry as she was she felt she could have done that to him and would enjoy it.

They glowered and growled at one another. William’s reserve was the first to falter. She looked breathtakingly beautiful with that murderous gleam in her eye and he could no longer resist his urges.
He rushed forward, wrapped his arms around her waist, and pulled her into his chest. He claimed her mouth with his. It wasn’t the sweet and tender first kiss he had imagined giving her. Nay, he plundered her mouth, took possession of it, kissed her as if it would be his last act on God’s earth.

Nora melted. She could not breathe, could not resist, and her muscles felt as strong as bread dough. When he thrust his tongue into her mouth, she felt as though a bolt of lightning had just pierced her stomach. Her toes and fingers tingled.

And praise be to God, the roof of her mouth tickled!
