Reader Voting Schedule for RONE's

Hello everyone! I'm so excited! The last week has been amazing. A whirlwind of activity here. But we'll keep this post focused on the RONE's.

Because of the number of books nominated and the various categories, InD'Tale had to break the voting down by genre and sub genre. Each week you'll have the opportunity to vote on specific categories. Voting has already started and you can find the schedule here.

As you know, Wee William's Woman, McKenna's Honor and Rowan's Lady have all been nominated.  Reader voting is extremely important. I can't move on to the next round without readers voting.

Wee William's Woman and Rowan's Lady are in the Historical Medieval category. Voting for them begins March 24 at InDTale Magazine. McKenna's Honor is in the Historical Novella category and that voting begins April 7. It is one vote per person.

It is an honor to be nominated! To see my books listed among the likes of Courtney Milan, Kathryn Loch, Willa Blair, Hildie McQueen, and Kate Robbins (just to name a few) is mind-boggling! I'm just so tickled about this!

As always, you can find updates on books, contests, etc. at my Facebook Page or my new website.

Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart! I would not be where I am if it weren't for all of you!

Hugs,
Suzan

2014 RONE Awards

I am so very excited and honored! Last night I learned that three of my novels, Wee William's Woman, McKenna's Honor, and Rowan's Lady are all up for the distinguished RONE awards from InD'Tale Magazine!

The RONE is one of the most prestigious honors that an indie author can achieve. I rank it as being right up there with the RITA's. Win, lose or draw, it is an honor just to be nominated.

What is a RONE you ask? RONE: Reward of Novel Excellence, is given to those novels that have earned a high review by InD'Tale's professional reviewers, voted on by readers, then judged by publishing industry professionals. Winning this award is not easy. You can't 'buy' one, they aren't given based on 'who you know' and no nepotism is involved. This is something that must be earned. That is why I'm so very excited about the prospect of getting my books in the final round.

Click here to learn how the judging and voting works and to find out when reader voting begins.

I know that I'm up against some great competition. I personally know several of the other authors who will also be nominated, and many of those I happen to love dearly! To even be considered for such an honor, to be included amongst these wonderful authors makes my heart flutter and brings tears to my eyes. (Okay, I almost peed my pants when I heard that my books were in the running!)

Voting is only open to subscribers of InD'Tale Magazine. Now, before you panic, subscribing is fast, easy and FREE! It really is a great magazine filled with interesting articles, interviews with some of your favorite authors, and good, honest reviews. Voting will start soon, so if you haven't already signed up for InD'Tale, I'd recommend doing that before voting begins.

I can't express to you how much your love and support means to me. I believe I have the best readers!

From the bottom of my heart, I thank you.

I'll continue to keep you all posted on how we're doing and when you can (if you want to) vote for my books. :D

Audio Book Give Aways!

Good morning! Having a great week here and yes, I realize its only Monday. But if this morning is any indication of what the rest of the week is going to be like, then this is going to be a fabulous week!

We're working diligently on the screenplay for McKenna's Honor. I just listened to a chunk of what my fabulous narrator, Brad Wills, has recorded for the opening scene of our pitch. Love it!

Because I'm having such a fantastic day, I've decided to do a wee bit of a give away over at my Facebook Fan Page. I'm going to give away three free copies of the audio version of McKenna's Honor. How's that for making your Monday a bit brighter? :o)

Just click the photo below to learn more.

Let the Countdown Begin!

11 Days until McKenna's Honor is released! Things are getting pretty busy and exciting around here. You can almost feel it in the air.

In case you missed it, McKenna's Honor is available for pre-order in both ebook and paperback formats at Amazon.  How cool is that? (Trust me. Those pre-order links are coveted by us indie authors!)

McKenna's Honor is a novella, approximately 130 pages (yes, I'm still editing!). It is not a typical romance but it does have romantic elements. McKenna's Honor is more a bridge that helps to launch my new series, Clan Graham. Don't panic! We'll still see some of our favorite MacDougall men and women in future books.

In honor of releasing my fourth book I'm going to be doing some fun give aways. I'll post the rules tomorrow (July 16, 2013).

I want to thank each and every one of you for your continued support, kind words, and encouragement. I truly believe that I have the best readers in the universe. :o)

Book Four of The Clan MacDougall Series

Good morning beautiful readers!
McKenna's Honor is coming along quite nicely. July will be here before you know it. Amazon should have a pre-order link up and running for us on or around June 20th. Our target release date is July 26, 2013. I will keep you posted if anything changes.

I am thoroughly enjoying this book. While it will have some romance in it, McKenna's Honor is going to be just a wee bit different. There will be far more mystery and intrigue. I am bringing back many of our favorite characters who I think you will be glad to see. ;o)

McKenna's Honor

Prologue

An old adage declares that there is no honor among thieves. The same can be said of traitors. Traitors often hide in the open, in our full plane of vision. The truth is there, if we choose to see it, if we are determined to see things for what they are and not what we wish them to be.
In reality, traitors are nothing more than pretenders. Actors in a play in which only they know who is who and what is what. Master manipulators.
And people tend to see only what they wish to see.
When a traitor performs, openly defending the weak, speaking only in the highest regard toward his king and country, and displaying an unequaled façade of honor, well, who among us would question his fealty? The traitor shows us only what he wishes us to see and only what we wish to believe.
All the while the traitor silently laughs at the folly he has created, taking great care in the absurdity of the entire situation.
And if he is extremely careful the world will never know who or what he truly is.
However, as is often the case with thieves, traitors, and ne’er do wells, sometimes fate steps in at the most unexpected of times. It rips away the heavy curtain of subterfuge and duplicity, to openly display to the world not what it wishes to see, but what it in fact must see.
Such inaugurations to the truth are often painful and traumatic, leaving the newly inaugurated feeling stunned, stupefied, and bitter. For some, the only means of survival is outright denial. They shun the truth. Curse it. Preferring instead, to live in denial. Mayhap because they love the traitor so much, it is easy to justify the aforementioned traitor’s behavior. Or, they may not wish to believe they could have been so easily duped.
But as in all good plays, there are subtle twists and turns. Some are quite obvious, others, not so much. Mayhap the truth isn’t always what it seems. Mayhap there is far more to it than anyone realizes.
What then, motivates a man? A man like Angus McKenna?
Angus McKenna has spent his life defending the defenseless, offering hope to the hopeless, lifting up the weak. This is how the world see’s him: Honorable. Honest. Steadfast. A leader of men. A man loyal, to king and country. A man above reproach. That is the man his people see, the man other leaders see, the man the world sees.
Since the day he took his oath as chief of the Clan MacDougall and made the promise to uphold and protect his clan above all other things, Angus McKenna has always put his family and his clan first. Each decision he has made since that fateful day in 1331 has been made with only one thought in mind: how will this decision affect my family and my clan?
Nothing else mattered but the safety and well being of his people. Not his own comfort, his own desires, or his own needs could be taken into consideration when making decisions that would directly affect his people.
What then, could have made Angus McKenna don a red and black plaid and turn against his king? His country? How could a man like Angus McKenna do such a thing? What could be of such a value that he would plot to murder his king and to forge a pact with the English? A pact that would cause the fall of his country and put it squarely into the hands of the very people he has spent his entire life fighting against.

Something more?
Through time and experience, we learn that things are not always as they appear.
